United States Numbered Highways Indiana roads
|
U.S. Route 6 (US 6) is a part of the United States Numbered Highway that runs from California to Provincetown, Massachusetts. In Indiana, it is a mostly rural, two-lane route that travels in the northern part of the state. However, some four-lane stretches may be found in Lake and Porter counties. For most of its length it travels over The Grand Army of the Republic Highway. U.S. Route 6 is positioned where State Road 6 would fit into Indiana's state road numbering system. SR 6 is also a former designation for the route.
